Are we happy in France?

75% of French people would be happy according to a study carried out by the Elabe research firm and the Institut Montaigne in partnership with SNCF and France Info. Another study of theINSEE in 2019 (before the pandemic) specifies that on average, our level of satisfaction with the life we ​​lead was 7,4/10. The main sources of happiness? Age (“General life satisfaction peaks in late adolescence and declines steadily until age 50, when it rises slowly to age 65. After this age, satisfaction drops rapidly until age 80, then stabilizes before decreasing again beyond age 85”), and the state of health, the romantic situation and the family life (the score increases in couple, but not necessarily with children according to this study), the comfort of a dwelling and its place of residence (the score drops for example in Paris, and in the big cities unlike the south west of France!).

World Wellness Day

On June 11, 2022, World Wellness Day celebrates its 10th anniversary. Initiated by Belgin Aksoy, founder of the Richmond Nua Wellness Spa in Turkey, this unifying day serves to introduce the curious and novices to a more serene way of life. The idea: adopt new habits for a more peaceful life and peace of mind. The theme this year: #thinkmagenta, a way to positively change your lifestyle by adding bright color to your thoughts.

In France, many practitioners alternative medicine (naturopath, Shiatsu, personal development coach, hypnotherapist, hypnotist, sophrologist, etc.) join the movement and allow you, via Resalib, to book a session for free. A way to discover new approaches to getting to know yourself better and maximizing your well-being.

Yoga, meditation, holistic practices and alternative medicine, you already know. What if joy was the first remedy for a more peaceful life? In "The Power of Joy" (The Pocket Book), Frédérique Lenoir explores ways to make joy flourish. A feeling that cannot be commanded, but invites itself. A state of mind helped by a favorable climate.

  • Attention : or, mindfulness. Take the test on a walk: drop your headphones, your smartphone, empty your mind for a few minutes and mobilize your 5 senses to appreciate the beauty of the place.

  • Gratitude : another word widely used during meditation sessions for example, but fundamental. Do not wait for a tragedy to realize the chance of being in good health or well surrounded. Laure Bouguen, founder of Ho Karan, for example, keeps a gratitude journal every day.   • perseverance in effort : a prize for hard work, a marathon time goal after months of training, the release of a book… Keeping up with the times and congratulating yourself on a great success!

By agreeing to it, we accept to accompany the movement of life, to marry the springing forms, sometimes surprising.”. Finally accept that not everything will go as we predicted, and above all, appreciate that!
  • The enjoyment of the body : “the body brings us joy through the harmony, balance, power, flexibility, dexterity which emanate from it and when it is in symbiosis with our heart and our mind”.
